These terms govern your use of BinMe, a UK SMS bin collection reminder service. By signing up by text and paying for the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact: help@binme.uk.

1. What BinMe is

BinMe sends SMS reminders before your household bin collection days, based on the address, bin types, and reminder time you choose during signup. It is a reminder service only — we do not collect waste and we are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any local council.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18, live at a UK address in an area we cover, and use a UK mobile number that you own or control. One address per phone number.

3. Price and payment

BinMe costs £12 per year, payable in advance by card through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices include VAT where applicable. Standard network rates apply to texts you send to us — these are charged by your mobile network, not by us. The subscription does not auto-renew unless we tell you otherwise at the point of payment; if we introduce auto-renewal we will notify you by SMS before any renewal charge.

4. Discounts and referrals

We may offer discount codes (currently up to £2 off the annual fee) and a referral scheme rewarding existing users who refer new sign-ups. Discount codes are single-use per customer unless stated otherwise, cannot be combined with other offers, have no cash value, and may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. Referral rewards are credited only once the referred user's subscription payment has been successfully taken, and we may withhold or reclaim rewards obtained through fraudulent, abusive, or self-referral activity.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time by texting STOP. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the day you pay. By completing signup you ask us to start the service immediately; if you cancel within the 14 days, we'll refund your payment less a proportionate amount for the period the service was active. After the 14 days, the annual fee is non-refundable except where required by law or where we have failed to provide the service as described. To request a refund, email help@binme.uk.

6. Accuracy of reminders — important

Collection schedules are based on information from local councils and dates you or we set up for your address. Councils change collection days — for bank holidays, weather, strikes, or without notice. While we work to keep schedules accurate and reflect changes we are aware of, we cannot guarantee that every reminder is sent, received, or correct. SMS delivery also depends on your mobile network and handset, which are outside our control.

BinMe is a convenience aid, not a guarantee. You remain responsible for putting your bins out. We are not liable for missed collections, or for any costs, fines, or inconvenience arising from a missed, late, incorrect, or undelivered reminder.

7. Your responsibilities

Give us accurate information at signup, keep your details up to date by texting CHANGE, and don't use the service for any unlawful purpose or attempt to disrupt, probe, or overload our systems. If you change phone number or move house, update your details — reminders sent to the details you gave us count as delivered service.

8. Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability we cannot exclude by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for events beyond our reasonable control (including network outages, council schedule changes, and failures of third-party providers).

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your subscription if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or if a payment is reversed or disputed. We may also withdraw the service in your area with at least 30 days' notice, in which case we'll refund the unused portion of your subscription. If we terminate without you being at fault, you get a pro-rata refund.

10. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the service and these terms from time to time. For material changes we'll notify you by SMS or on this page at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of your subscription.

11. Data protection

How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

12. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings there). If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are between you and us — no one else has rights under them.
